Soundgarden
It is summer and that means Canada day July 1st weekend and a Happy 4th of July to our brothers and sisters in the U.S.A. It also means summer concert season is in full swing. In combination of the things above I give you Soundgarden 4th of July.

Happy Birthday Canada
Canada
It was formerly believed, on a sea-battered shore
though the storm at home blasted,
that in distant west there still lay lands,
where calm and sun never ended,
for there the good season had found it's retreat
and freedom and compassion- all that is best.
They set no sail, but thought high,
by the ocean they dreaming stood,
as the sun slid into the lowest west
in evenings blue-misted spring dusk,
then hope and desire glide out with the breeze
on the still bank, sun gilt, wide armed sea.
Though oceans still flood, that separate lands,
the passage across is effortless.
And our Markland, Canada, its genius and care
the world held out to you over the sea.
To the Greeks you could only appear in a poem -
but to Icelandic sea kings you gave yourself first.
Still human hope turns its tired eyes
from the east, to dream about you -
you proved good to all, who loved you fervently,
who possess here rapture and home.
And all with you is fullfilled and able to root
which the unquiet spirit has dreamed best.

TOMS
By now everyone has heard of TOMS shoes. Like other fad shoes before them they are all the rage. But unlike a lot of other trends this one has a heart. For every pair of shoes you take home a pair is given to a child in need. They have been around for a little while now, and at first I wasn't too sure of them, but as more designs are out the more I like them. I think of them as a day time slipper/shoe. Great for "beach" type days. I have my eye on the "Natural Crochet Women's Classic". I think it will hit the mark with any kind of boho look, or long white skirts. Right now seems to be the time when clothing is doing more than just dressing your body. H&M had the organic of recycled fabrics and materials. Sure there has always been brands that have "reused" clothing, but they tended to be a higher price point. TOMS and H&M have the ability to reach a lot more people. Plus they are much easier to find that one off stores in major cities.
So that being said I am going off to pick up my first pair of TOMS and then dream of walking up and down the Peir in Santa Monica.
